PENSACOLA, Fla. – The Jackson State University bowling team finished in fourth place in the season-opening Florida A&M Invitational.
JSU finished Sunday’s bracket finals in the same place in began after a series of highly competitive matches. Competing in the baker format in the best four out of seven series, Jackson State defeated Southern 4-2 (194-165, 189-170, 214-199, 185-190, 151-183, 242-168) to advance to the semifinals.
Jackson State fell in six games to Tulane (171-160, 203-184, 167-171, 179-200, 150-160, 162-177) before losing to Alabama State in seven games in the third-place match (139-210, 224-176, 180-186, 182-184, 192-184, 186-163, 160-221).
JSU returns to action Friday in the Allstate Sugar Bowl Tournament, hosted by Tulane.
